Blak is @8045records’ first signing — straight from 54th St with street stories, soul samples, and hooks built for the city. He came up through Dead Wrong Records, dropping The Return of Blak and several singles before closing that chapter with his signature catch-phrase EP WYO!? (What You On?), released on his birthday in September.

Beyond music, he works with Philly youth. His 2013 collab “the come up” with Mazi KaBi laid the groundwork. November 2025 brought the full-circle reunion “g.e.a.r (give em a reason),” marking his official jump to @8045.

He first linked with Proven Knowledge / Anthony Church in 2022 and collaborated on their 2023 album Forms of Escapism. On Episode 286 of the Proven Knowledge podcast this week, he detailed his departure from Dead Wrong Records, the launch of WYO!?, and this new chapter with @8045records. The move’s already brought his first show outside Philly, radio play, and plans to expand nationally into 2026. He continues to appear on podcasts available on Spotify.
